First Time FAQ
Nervous? Don’t Be!
It’s nerve wracking to step into a church for the first time. We get that! Here’s a bit of a guide so you know what to expect when you come to visit!
What is Worship Like?
Our goal in worship is to receive the gifts of Jesus through Word and Sacrament, and respond to him with thanks and praise. Worship is about an hour long. Worshipers are encouraged to keep their dress respectful to others and God. We use a “liturgy” which is a basic order of service. With a little practice, even small children can follow along and participate. Some Sundays we have communion, and we practice “close communion.” Please speak with the pastor before participating.
What Time Should I Come?
Worship starts at 10am in English and 11:30am in Spanish on Sundays. For more important holidays, such as Easter, we have one bilingual service at 11:30am.
Where Do I Go?
If you park in our parking lot, enter the door, and go up the stairs into the sanctuary. Otherwise, if you park on the street, you can go in the double doors on the back side of church and go up the stairs.
What About My Kids?
If you have kids, great! Bring them along. Sometimes kids are noisy, and we understand that it takes practice to train them to sit quietly and participate. We’re just glad you’re making the important effort to worship as a family.
Enjoy Yourself!
We absolutely love coming together, and we even share food together after worship. It’d be great if you stick around to get to know us!
